Nairobi, May 12 -- An attack by a suspected foreign militia group in which six people were killed last weekend is yet another grim indicator of the huge sacrifice this country is making due to the perennial conflict in Somalia.

Gunmen ambushed a bus on the Mandera-Arabia road near the Kenya-Somalia border, killing the victims. Local residents are pointing the finger at a foreign militia as investigations continue.

Local leaders have singled out the Jubaland militia from Somalia that is based in the region for the Saturday morning attack on the bus ferrying members of one family to a religious event.
