Nairobi, May 16 -- The Nation Media Group (NMG) won six categories for exemplary journalism at the 14th Annual Media Excellence Awards (AMEA) held on Friday night in Nairobi.

NMG also had its journalists finish in the top three positions across 14 categories, continuing a tradition of excellence that has defined the region's largest media house for decades. At the high-profile event, the Daily Nation was also named Kenya's most-read newspaper.

NMG Editor-in-Chief Dr Joe Ageyo congratulated the winners, saying the awards were "a powerful validation of the public interest motivation that has defined our journalism for six and a half decades."
