Nairobi, May 3 -- Interior and National Administration CS Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday hit out at former President Uhuru Kenyatta over his continued involvement in active politics, and told him to assume the role of an elder statesman like President Mwai Kibaki did.

The CS noted that when President Kibaki retired, he transitioned into a statesman who offered guidance to the then government and national leaders.

Speaking to residents in Narok on Friday, Mr Kenyatta, through his brother Mr Muhoho's phone, told President Ruto to allow him space to exercise his freedom of speech in the country's political space.
