Nairobi, May 11 -- Mandera residents are pointing an accusing finger at a suspected foreign militia, even as government agencies continue with investigations into the killing of six people over the weekend.

In a meeting held on Sunday at Arabia township, local political leadership said the Saturday morning attack on a public service vehicle ferrying members of a family, was staged by members of Jubbaland forces.

Since August 2025, a section of Jubbaland forces have been camping in Mandera town following their defeat at Bulahawa by Federal Government of Somalia troops.
