Nairobi, April 24 -- Kenya's HIV prevention programme is facing growing uncertainty following sweeping US funding cuts, with experts warning that gains made over nearly two decades could be reversed.
The country, which ranks among the top five in Eastern and Southern Africa in the implementation of voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC), is now grappling with a slowdown in the programme after the exit of key donor support and broader shifts in US global health financing.
