Nairobi, April 16 -- The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) has reduced the pump prices of petrol and diesel a day after announcing a sharp increase of up to Sh40 per litre.

In the new rates released on Wednesday, April 15 evening, the price of petrol has reduced by Sh9.37 and diesel by Sh10.21 to retail at Sh197.60 and Sh196.63, respectively, in Nairobi.

This comes after the National Treasury further reviewed VAT on fuel for the second time in two days, from 13 percent to 8 percent.

The new fuel prices are effective from April 16.
