2026 African Athletics Championships: Kenya begin gold hunt with women's 5,000m
Nairobi, May 12 -- Firmly following the footsteps of her mentor, Olympic and world 1,500m champion, Faith Kipyegon, Dorcas Chepkwemoi Ndiema will be looking to soar at the African Athletics Championships that gets underway in Accra, Ghana on Tuesday.
Ndiema, Kipyegon's training mate, and another fast-rising distance runner, Mercy Chepkemoi, will be out to recapture the women's 5,000 metres title in the 24th edition of the continental athletics bonanza at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The women's 5,00m final will start at 8.50pm Kenyan time.
