Uganda, April 20 -- The Gulu High Court resident judge, Justice Phillip Odoki, has ordered that the election petition against the Justice Minister, Mr Norbert Mao, be served to him through the Daily Monitor newspaper.
Early this month, Mr Tonny Kitara, a candidate on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket for the Pece-Laroo Division parliamentary seat, petitioned the High Court challenging Mao's victory in the January 16th general elections.
Justice Odoki's orders were part of his ruling, which he delivered on Monday, following an application in which Mr Kitara's lawyers filed an application for substituted service by publishing the petition in the newspaper following unsuccessful attempts to serve Mao with the petition.
