Uganda, April 15 -- Uganda has stepped up its appeal to American investors, highlighting high returns, and expanding market access as key reasons to invest in the East African nation.

Speaking during the second US -Uganda Business and Investment Forum in Washington DC on April 13, on the sideline Spring Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, which runs from April 14 to 17, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury Mr Ramathan Ggoobi emphasized that Uganda offers "a wealth of investment opportunities with high value returns," pointing to an average return on investment of 14 percent and an average return on equity of 30 percent among listed companies.
