Uganda, May 4 -- Three primary school pupils from Bwera Primary School in Kabale District were killed by lightning during downpour on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. in Kahama village, Kafunjo parish, Buhara sub-county, where the children had taken shelter in a kitchen while preparing a meal.

The LC1 chairperson of Kahama Village, Mr Benon Turihohabwe, identified the deceased as Daphine Musimiseki, a Primary Four pupil, and her sister Shine Ainebyoona, both daughters of Yosam Tukwasibwe.

The third victim, Faith Namanya, a Primary Five pupil, was the daughter of Lenad Rukarekoha.
