Uganda, April 8 -- Two bodies have been recovered in Mpigi district after a truck loaded with stones plunged into Lukolo swamp on Easter Monday.

Police have identified one of the deceased as Bosco Lukyamuzi, a resident of Kitemu in Kyengera town Council, Wakiso district, while the other remains unidentified.

A joint search effort mounted by the police and locals led to the Tuesday night discovery. Lukolo swamp is located between the river Buwama and Bunjakko island.

Preliminary police reports indicate that the Sinotruck registration number UBN 909U was ferrying stones to Bunjakko Island when the driver lost control, veered off the road and plunged into the water.
