Uganda, May 14 -- Commercial rents in Kabale Municipality have sharply increased following the enforcement of a government trade order that led to the demolition of temporary and dilapidated business structures, leaving some tenants facing eviction and uncertainty over workspace.

The trade order, aimed at regulating urban trading and preventing unlawful occupation of walkways, road reserves, and other public spaces, has increased demand for business premises in the municipality, according to traders and local leaders.
