Uganda, May 2 -- Three Ugandan schools have been named among the world's 50 most innovative institutions in the shortlist for the $1 million Global Schools Prize 2026, placing the country firmly on the map of education reformers reimagining learning for a new era.

St. Kizito High School Namugongo in Kampala, Suubi Community Schools in Mubende, and Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC) in Fort Portal were selected from almost 3,000 nominations across 113 countries, the Varkey Foundation announced this week.
