Uganda, May 14 -- The outgoing mayor of Tororo Municipality formally handed over office on Thursday, ushering in an interim administrative period ahead of the swearing-in of newly elected local leaders.

The ceremony, held at the mayor's office, saw the transfer of official documents, keys and council records to Town Clerk Ayub Alikwan, who will oversee municipal operations until the new political leadership assumes office.

The handover included financial records, statutory files, pending contracts and a report detailing ongoing projects and urgent matters requiring follow-up.
