Uganda, April 17 -- At least six suspects have been arrested in Lwera over illegal sand mining. They were apprehended in a multi-agency enforcement operation led by the National Environment Management Authority in Lwera, which also saw the destruction of equipment and the seizure of vehicles used in the illicit trade. The environment watchdog has reiterated its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and safeguarding Uganda's natural resources.
