Uganda, April 18 -- A police officer attached to Arua City Central Police Station has died following a motorcycle crash in Yumbe District.

Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) Wilfred Egwuyu, 44, died Friday evening after a kickstand left down toppled over the motorcycle he was riding.  

The North West Nile Region Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea said AIP Egwuyu who was attached to Arua City Police Health Centre III was riding the Yamaya motorcycle from Yumbe Town, heading towards Yumbe Hospital, with a passenger on board when the crash reportedly happened at Manduru Cell, Ombea, Ward, Kuru Town Council, Yumbe District at around 8pm.
