Uganda, May 8 -- Police in Wakiso District are holding three suspects in connection with the alleged aggravated torture of a 10-year-old boy who reportedly sustained severe injuries after being accused of stealing money.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachel Kawala, the incident was reported to police on May 7, 2026 at about 10:00 a.m., after authorities received information that a male juvenile was being tortured by his guardians in Nkoowe Village, Kaliiti Parish, Mende Sub-county in Wakiso District.
