Uganda, May 13 -- When Allan Okello arrived at Young Africans SC in January, he sounded more cautious than celebratory.

There were no grand declarations about conquering Tanzania. No promises of instant brilliance.

Instead, the Ugandan forward, 25, spoke with the restraint of a footballer who understood exactly where he was going.

He understood the assignment

"There are quality players from all over Africa here," he said then. "Nothing is guaranteed. I have to work hard, earn my place, and when I get the chance, make sure I don't disappoint."
