Museveni rejects MPs' bid to influence appointment of top civil servants
Uganda, April 15 -- President Museveni has rejected a proposal by legislators from his ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party seeking to be greenlighted to also recommend names of individuals that should be appointed to positions of Permanent Secretaries, Resident District/City Commissioners (RDCs/RCCs), and Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs).
The proposal, contained in the draft of resolutions of the NRM retreat, was read by the party Secretary General, Mr Richard Todwong at the close of retreat on Tuesday. Upon completion of his presentation, Mr Museveni rejected it before the members adopted their resolutions.
