Uganda, May 16 -- It is a pomp in Mukono District, with hundreds of newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flocking the thanksgiving ceremony of Defence and Veteran Affairs Minister, Jacob Oboth Oboth.

On Friday, the MP for Budama Central West was endorsed by the First Son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) preferred candidate for Speakership of the 12th Parliament.

The PLU Secretary General Daudi Kabanda announced that the civil political group, which has MPs leaning to it, withdrew their support from Ms Among and her deputy, Thomas Tayebwa, for another term.
