Morning fire destroys property worth Shs100m in Mukono
Uganda, April 15 -- A fire outbreak gutted Kiwanga-Lwanda Cell, Nantabulirwa Ward, Goma Division in Mukono Municipality on Wednesday morning, destroying property worth millions of shillings.
The fire which occurred at about 7:20am and it is suspected to have started at Birimuye Metal Workshop (welding section) before spreading to a neighbouring timber workshop along the Kampala-Jinja Highway.
Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire issued a statement confirming the fire outbreak.
In his statement, he said police officers from Coca-Cola Police Post, together with the Mukono Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, responded promptly and successfully contained and extinguished the fire.
