Uganda, April 16 -- In Itek sub-county, Lira District, frustration is boiling over. A community already struggling to make ends meet is being hit hard by mysterious transformer troubles.

Within three months, 10 transformers have blown, and today's replacement is already on the rocks - blown after just two weeks.

Ms Sarah Alele of Abali "B" Village, just like other locals in Itek sub-county, is scratching her head: "What's happening? How can this keep happening?"

Sadly, small businesses are suffering, machines are idle, and people are forced to travel 20km to access basic services like milling.
