Uganda, April 22 -- Police in North Kyoga Region have arrested one of their senior officers on charges of attempted rape after a 19-year-old female student was found hiding under his bed in Kole Town.

The suspect now in custody is the Kole District Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer, while the victim is a student of Akalo Comprehensive Secondary School in Akalo Town Council, Kole District.

It's alleged that on April 21, 2026, D/ASP Dickens Louis Ebong lured the victim into his house at Kole Police Barracks, Kole Town Council, where he allegedly tried to forcefully have sexual intercourse with her.
