Uganda, May 8 -- The Kisoro District Council on Thursday suspended the District Service Commission (DSC) over allegations of bribery, nepotism and irregular recruitment of staff, escalating scrutiny of the district's hiring processes.

Those affected include DSC chairperson Erasmus Nshaka and secretary Francesca Mugisha, alongside commission members Reverend Dr Emmanuel Safari, Richard Tukamuhabwa, Mbabazi Peace and Gaudensia Busingye.

The suspension followed recommendations by the council's Works Committee, which called for the immediate halt of commission activities pending investigations.
