Uganda, April 21 -- The founding Vice Chancellor of Kampala University, Prof Badru Dungu Kateregga, has decried what he described as the growing misuse of social media, particularly among the youth, while linking the concern to the need for a more practical, competence-based education system.

Prof Kateregga said a section of Ugandans have turned platforms such as X, TikTok and WhatsApp into spaces for abuse, misinformation and harmful content, instead of tools for innovation and development.
