Uganda, May 4 -- Kamuli District Local Government has passed a budget of Shs 78.1 billion for the 2026/27 financial year, up from last year's Shs71 billion, amid concerns over accountability, shoddy work, and service delivery quality.
The Council, which late last week sat at Mbale District Council Hall marking the final council term of office, called for enhanced local revenue mobilization, noting that most of the budget is allocated to salaries, wages, and conditional grants dictated by the Ministry of Finance through indicative planning figures.
