Uganda, April 28 -- Government has resumed enforcement of its trade order after a four-day suspension prompted by public outcry, with Cabinet resolving on April 27, 2026, to restart implementation of the policy nationwide.
Local Government Minister Raphael Magyezi said Cabinet agreed to proceed with the order as originally planned, while strengthening its rollout through community sensitization and coordinated enforcement.
"The Cabinet agreed to resume implementation of the trade order as originally planned," Magyezi said.
