Uganda, May 15 -- The government has spent over USD 101 million (about Shs379b) on high-potency quadrivalent Foot-and-Mouth Disease vaccines as part of a new national programme to control and progressively eliminate the disease.

The investment anchors Uganda's FMD vaccination and cost-recovery programme, which aims to strengthen livestock health systems, improve prevention and restore confidence in the livestock sector and export markets.
