Uganda, May 5 -- A construction firm working on the Luweero-Butalangu Road upgrade has warned that a global fuel supply shortage could disrupt works and potentially affect the project's completion schedule.

Fuel prices have increased by between Shs200 and Shs1,000 in different parts of Uganda over the past four weeks.

Dott Services Limited, the contractor on the 29.7-kilometre road, said it remains committed to the revised completion deadline of August 16, 2026, but is already feeling the impact of rising fuel supplies.

"We cannot predict when the fuel crisis will end, but we are already experiencing the effects," said Isaac Ssebuliba, an engineer with Dott Services.
