Doctors weigh in as probe into MP Nakimuli's death intensifies
Uganda, April 21 -- Leaders of medical doctors' associations have urged the public to exercise restraint and allow transparency in the ongoing investigations into the sudden death of Helen Nakimuli, an opposition Kalangala Woman Member of Parliament (MP).
The 41-year-old legislator died on April 19 at Alexandra Medical Centre in Kampala following an unsuccessful surgical procedure at the facility.
According to friends and opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) party colleagues, Ms Nakimuli drove herself to the facility for what was expected to be a routine operation but died during the procedure.
Her death has triggered widespread shock and speculation across the country.
