Uganda, April 25 -- Religious leaders from the Acholi and Madi sub-regions have urged dialogues in the Apaa land conflict, saying it is the only viable pathway to peace.
They tasked elders, chiefs, and community leaders to take responsibility for guiding their people away from conflict.
"True courage is not picking up a weapon. True courage is being willing to sit down with those you are angry with and search for a way forward together," Bishop Godfrey Loum, of the Diocese of Northern Uganda, told this publication during an interview.
He advised that the urge for violence and revenge must be resisted by the two communities, noting that evil cannot be overcome by evil but by good and embracing reconciliation.
