Uganda, May 12 -- The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has launched a nationwide mass titling exercise for all Church of Uganda land across its 39 dioceses to protect it from encroachers.

The exercise was flagged off on Monday at the Diocese of Kigezi cathedral headquarters on Rugarama Hill, attended by bishops from Kigezi, Muhabura, Kinkiizi and North Kigezi dioceses.

It follows a September 2022 directive from President Yoweri Museveni, made after a request from Archbishop Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu to secure church property.
