Uganda, May 2 -- One body has been recovered as the search for missing persons following the collapse of a building in Mbale City continues.

The deceased, identified as Andrew Wonyakara, a builder, was pulled out from the rubble at around 3:00pm following the early morning incident, in which six people were injured, and others were still feared dead.

Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson, Mr Rogers Taika, told this publication on Saturday that search efforts continue, with an investigation into the incident also commenced.

The building, located in Namakwekwe Estate, Northern city division in Mbale city, caved in during the early hours of Saturday morning at around 2:00 a.m., reportedly after the fifth floor gave way.
