Uganda, April 17 -- A total of 129 households living along the shores of Lake Kwania and the River Nile that were affected by floods in Aganga Parish, Ibuje and Akokoro Sub-counties in Apac district are crying out for help, saying they are suffering.
The areas have experienced recurrent flooding, hailstorms, strong winds and heavy rainfall since 2018.
In 2018, rising water levels displaced 230 households, in 2023, a strong wind claimed a life and left 19 households homeless, around the same period, another wind and hailstorm destroyed crops and buildings, in October 2024, more flooding, submerging homes and Igoti Primary School.
