Uganda, April 23 -- The African Development Bank Group has approved €7.33 million (about Shs31.856 billion) in additional financing to finalize compensation payments for individuals affected by the Uganda Rural Electricity Access Project - Phase I, marking a key step toward completing the long-running initiative.

The Uganda Rural Electricity Access Project (UREAP) remains a flagship initiative under the African Development Bank Group's Country Strategy Paper for Uganda (2022-2026). It also contributes to "Mission 300," a joint effort with the World Bank Group aimed at connecting 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa to electricity by 2030.
