Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- A tragic incident took place in Hapudanduwala, Ududumbara, where a mother reportedly poisoned her three children before consuming poison herself.

The 32-year-old mother died, while her three sons, aged 12, 10 and 5, are receiving treatment at Ududumbara Hospital. All are in stable condition.

It is reported that the woman had been receiving treatment for a mental health condition. Her husband, aged 34, had passed away just two days earlier after suffering from leukaemia.

According to police, all three children are also said to be suffering from leukaemia.
