Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- The Department of Wildlife Conservation has launched a probe to apprehend a man allegedly involved in poaching inside Block V of Yala National Park, after a video capturing the incident was handed over to wildlife officials.

The incident reportedly took place on the afternoon of August 10 in the Veheragala area of the park. A safari jeep driver who recorded the incident submitted the video to the Block V park warden on the same day.

Following the complaint, wildlife officials searched the area on August 11 and 12 but failed to locate the suspect. Officials later learned that he had left his usual place of residence.
