Sri Lanka, July 30 -- John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) will bring the global fast-food chain Wendy's to Sri Lanka, marking the diversified conglomerate's entry into the quick-service restaurant segment.

The first Wendy's outlet is expected to open by December 2026, with the franchise agreements and other preliminary work already completed.

"JKH will diversify its consumer foods portfolio into Sri Lanka's quick service restaurant segment through the rollout of the internationally recognised Wendy's brand," JKH Chairperson Krishan Balendra said in the group's latest quarterly release.

JKH is yet to disclose the location of the first outlet, the investment involved or the number of restaurants planned under the rollout.
