Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- Two suspects allegedly involved in a fatal shooting at a birthday party held at a hotel in Wattala on the night of July 23 have been arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake after fleeing to India.

According to police, the suspects allegedly escaped to India by boat following the shooting. While hiding there, they were arrested by Indian security forces and subsequently deported to Sri Lanka.

Indian authorities had informed Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers at the BIA in advance of the suspects' deportation from Chennai.

The two suspects, aged 30 and 34, are residents of the Wattala area.
