Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- Attorney-at-Law Gunaratne Wanninayake, through his counsel today informed the Court of Appeal that he would forthwith surrender before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court in connection with an incident involving a police constable at the Mount Lavinia Court premises.
President's Counsel Faisz Musthapha, appearing for Wanninayake, gave this assurance when the writ petition filed by Wanninayake was taken up before a two-judge bench of the Court of Appeal comprising President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Priyantha Fernando.
The Court of Appeal observed that it would not make any order regarding the matter and further noted that it would not interfere with the ongoing criminal investigation.
