Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today reaffirmed that the importation of vehicles into the country will continue without disruption, dispelling ongoing speculation and public concerns.

Addressing recent rumours, the President said that, there's no truth to the claims that vehicle imports will be stopped.

" If you can't buy one this year, you can buy one next year-nothing will change," he said.

He emphasized that there are no plans to impose additional taxes on vehicle imports either, assuring the public that the existing policy will remain in place.

President Dissanayake accused certain individuals of deliberately spreading misinformation to mislead the public and create unnecessary panic.
