Sri Lanka, June 17 -- Repair work on the damaged railway line between Nanu Oya and Ambewela on the Upcountry Line, which was affected by Cyclone Ditwah, has been completed, the Railway Department said.

Accordingly, train services on the Nanu Oya-Badulla section of the Upcountry Line are scheduled to resume from the Saturday (20) under a special timetable, officials said.

The Railway Department has made arrangements to operate services under a revised schedule to ensure smooth resumption of operations along the route.

Meanwhile, maintenance work is still underway at several damaged sections of the Upcountry Line between Rambukkana and Nanu Oya. Officials said restoration work on those sections is continuing.
