Colombo, Oct. 12 -- Two men were killed in an early morning accident in the Narammala Police area today (12).

Police said a lorry travelling towards Sorombawa veered off the road after the driver lost control, crashing into a telephone pole and a culvert. Two individuals who were travelling behind the lorry were crushed by the vehicle and succumbed to their injuries after being admitted to the Narammala Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as residents of Vavuniya and Nedunkeni, aged 26 and 29.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested, and further investigations are being conducted by the Narammala Police.
