Sri Lanka, Nov. 6 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested a retired Deputy Excise Commissioner and an Excise Corporal over allegations of accepting bribes.

According to the Commission, the arrests were made yesterday (05) at around 9.05 a.m. and 9.15 a.m., respectively.

The suspects have been identified as Channa Jayanath Alwis Weerakkody, a retired Deputy Excise Commissioner, and Polgampalage Sampath Ranasinghe, an Excise officer attached to the Matara Excise Station.
