Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Two Sri Lankan passengers attempting to smuggle a consignment of mobile phones worth Rs. 100 million into the country were arrested this morning (27) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Green Channel.

The arrests were made by officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division. Investigations revealed that the phones had been brought into the country without the required approval from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).

The suspects, aged 24 and 32, are residents of the Grandpass area in Colombo. One is a businessman while the other is employed as a factory supervisor.
