Sri Lanka, May 29 -- The Colombo High Court today fixed July 7, 2026, for the commencement of the trial in the case filed against Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa over the controversial Krrish transaction.

The case, instituted by the Attorney General, was taken up before the Colombo High Court this morning, where the pre-trial conference was concluded.

Following the completion of preliminary proceedings, the High Court bench ordered that the matter be called for trial in July.

The Attorney General has alleged that Namal Rajapaksa committed criminal breach of trust by obtaining Rs. 70 million from the Indian Krrish company, claiming that the funds were intended for the promotion of rugby in Sri Lanka.
