Sri Lanka, March 6 -- The government plans to introduce a training programme for the 66,315 justices of peace currently serving in Sri Lanka, Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara told Parliament.

The Minister said that thousands of justices of peace have been appointed during election periods.

He added that a database of justices of peace will be established soon.

In the future, only individuals aged between 30 and 75 will be appointed as justices of peace.
