Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Heavy traffic congestion was reported along Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha in Colombo today (18), stretching from the Lake House roundabout to Slave Island, owing to a protest demonstration staged by Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) workers.

The protest was held opposite the CEB headquarters, disrupting the evening traffic flow in the area.

Motorists were advised to use alternative routes until the situation eased.
