Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- Three passengers attempting to smuggle a consignment of high-end mobile phones and tablet computers worth Rs. 62 million were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today.

Airport Customs officers intercepted the suspects at the "Green Channel" while they were attempting to leave the airport undetected. The group included two women, aged 39 and 62, and a 25-year-old man, all residents of Colombo.

The suspects had arrived from Dubai on Fly Dubai flight FZ-549, which landed at 4.30 a.m. today. Upon inspection, Customs officers recovered 559 high-end mobile phones and 80 tablet computers concealed in their luggage.
