SriLanka, Oct. 25 -- Ten people, including students, were injured and hospitalised following a collision between a train and a bus at an unprotected railway crossing in Habaraduwa this afternoon (25).

The accident occurred near the Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Museum in Koggala when a train travelling from Beliatta to Maradana collided with the rear of the bus.

The bus was carrying more than 50 passengers, including 14- and 15-year-old students, parents and teachers, who were returning from an educational trip organised for students attending a tuition class in Kottawa.

The injured students were rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and other nearby hospitals for treatment.
